How do I know I need
to clean my waterlines?
You can test your waterlines for bacteria content, but
waterlines begin to grow bacteria within 5 days of use. Any waterline
that is not being cleaned routinely will not pass the 500cfu maximum
limit with rare exceptions.

Which DentaPure®
product is right for my unit?
DentaPure® DP40 is
for units with independent water bottles.
DentaPure® DP90 &
365 are for units on municipal or well water sources.

What about my patients
with iodine allergies?
DentaPure® cartridges
use pure, elemental iodine. No allergens are attached to the iodine,
eliminating the potential allergenic response.
In addition, the iodine exposure in a dental procedure is
about 10% of the adult daily minimum dietary requirement. Equivalent
to 4ozs of broccoli.

Does the iodine have
a taste?
Most patients cannot detect the low levels of iodine (2-6ppm).
It is masked by the chlorine in municipal water. The few who do
comment that they find a slight "medicine" aftertaste.

How
do I know DentaPure®
is working---do I need to test it?
DentaPure ® is the only waterline system labeled
by both the US EPA and the FDA to provide 200cfu of bacteria,
or less, when used according to manufacturer and CDC guidelines.
Costly and laborious testing is not required to prove DentaPure®
is working for you. We have done that for you with the above regulatory
agencies.

Will
DentaPure® corrode or etch metal parts in my dental unit?
No. Studies show there is no corrosion or etching of metal
parts in a dental unit unlike bleach or peroxide based cleaners.

Will DentaPure®
interfere with the setting of my dentin bonding agents?
No. Studies show there is no effect on the setting of dentin
bonding agents due to the use of DentaPure®.

What about water
heaters and cup fillers on my dental unit?
Water heaters should be disconnected as their use exacerbates
the growth of bacterial in the waterlines.
Cup fillers should be rerouted to a water source not being
treated by DentaPure® to prevent
using up the iodine prematurely. The cup filler will have much lower
bacteria counts than handpieces and air / water syringes due to
their much larger diameter waterlines and flow quantities of water.

Is there any
independent testing information available on DentaPure®?
Yes. DentaPure® has
not only been cleared to market with performance claims of
200 cfu /ml by the FDA and EPA, but also tested by the USAF, CRA,
and dental schools in the US and Europe.
The CRA Buying Guide & Outstanding Products 2005 lists
DentaPure as having one of the highest ratings in their clinical
and lab testing.
Additional studies may be sourced on the DentaPure website,
www.dentapure.com.

Will DentaPure®
in my waste water cause any problems with Federal, local or state
water regulations?
No. DentaPure is virtually undetectable in your waste water.
It will not expose your practice to regulatory limits and consequences
like the use of silver and chlorine dioxides. Studies have
shown that the mercury released from amalgam exposed to DentaPure®
treated water is 1/20th of the amount released by exposing amalgam
to distilled water.

Who installs DentaPure®
for me?
The DP40 is easily self installed. We recommend the municipal
system DP90 and DP365, and the DP1 & 2 be installed by the service
tech from your dental dealer.
